Read This First

This role is not for someone who wants to “manage engineering teams”.

This role is for someone who wants to shape the future of:

  • AI in the built world
  • SaaS platforms at scale
  • Digital Twins, data, and intelligence layers
  • Long-term technology and IP strategy

If you are excited by ambiguity, uncomfortable problems, and building what doesn’t exist yet – keep reading.

About the Role

We are building a category-defining platform at the intersection of AI, Digital Twins, IoT, SaaS, and the Built World, operating across multiple geographies.

As Chief Technology & Innovation Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Long-term technology vision
  • AI and intelligence strategy
  • Platform architecture and evolution
  • Innovation pipelines
  • IP creation and protection
  • Identifying what we build vs buy vs partner

You will work directly with the Founder and act as a technology thought partner, not just an execution lead.

What You Will Own

Technology & Future Vision

  • Define the 3–5 year technology roadmap
  • Anticipate how AI, data, and platforms will evolve
  • Make architectural decisions that survive scale
  • Ensure we build foundational capabilities, not shortcuts

AI & Intelligence

  • Lead AI strategy across products and platforms
  • Define how LLMs, agents, automation, analytics, and ML are applied meaningfully
  • Balance innovation with reliability and ethics
  • Push the organisation to be AI-native, not AI-washed

Platform & Architecture

  • Own platform architecture across cloud, data, integrations, and APIs
  • Ensure modularity, scalability, and security
  • Guide teams toward clean abstractions and long-term maintainability

Innovation & IP

  • Drive invention disclosures, patents, and defensible IP
  • Identify differentiators worth protecting
  • Collaborate with legal, product, and leadership on IP strategy
  • Build a culture of “thinking in moats”

Team & Culture

  • Mentor senior engineers, architects, and tech leads
  • Build a culture of strong engineering judgment
  • Encourage first-principles thinking over blind frameworks
  • Set the bar for technical excellence and curiosity

Who This Is For

This role is for someone who:

  • Thinks deeply about systems, platforms, and leverage
  • Is comfortable saying “no” to short-term hacks
  • Can explain complex ideas simply
  • Has built or scaled complex SaaS/platform products
  • Is fluent in AI concepts, architectures, and trade-offs
  • Understands that IP is a strategy, not paperwork
  • Enjoys working directly with founders
  • Cares more about what we enable than what we ship this sprint

You naturally ask:

  • “What does this unlock in 3 years?”
  • “What moat are we building?”
  • “What happens when this scales 100×?”

What You’ll Likely Have

  • 10–18+ years in technology leadership or deep technical roles
  • Experience designing scalable platforms or core systems
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML, data platforms, and cloud-native architectures
  • Exposure to enterprise SaaS or complex B2B platforms
  • Experience with patents, IP, or deep-tech differentiation (direct or adjacent)
  • Builder mindset — you’ve written, reviewed, and challenged real systems

Why This Role Is Special

  • Direct influence on company direction and DNA
  • Freedom to think long-term in a short-term world
  • Work on real-world problems with global impact
  • Strong business fundamentals — not speculative R&D
  • A founding team that values thinking, not theatrics

This is a legacy role — not a stepping stone.
